Our story and Yours

Home for All Nations is based in Houston, the USA's fifth largest metro area and one of its most diverse cities. We were drawn to come because 1 in every 4 persons living here was not born in America. Waves of refugees have moved here. We think Houston is a wonderful place to follow the example of God who "loves the stranger."

Home for All Nations is presently focused on serving Afghans, Chinese, and Southeast Asians because of the great humanitarian need or the fact that so few of them have had a chance to know the truth about Jesus and God's special last invitation of mercy called the three angels' messages.

Each of us at Home for All Nations has a story about how God drew our hearts to those who have been displaced from their homes or traveled far. Our life journeys have intersected to bind us into a team, an organization that is part of God's bigger story to love the entire world. Explore with us and may God's story through you further unfold.

The heartbeat of this home.

We exist to show God's love for all ethnicities, particularly to refugees, immigrants, and international students from restricted countries who have never heard the beautiful, transforming story of Jesus.

Projects

Assisting Refugees

Families arrive from other countries with only a few bags they can carry. Often they do not speak English. Within a short time they must have a job and be able to pay for rent, utilities, and many other things.

We train volunteers to assist newly arrived refugees. They befriend these families and help them with the many adjustments they face. Together we share food, cleaning supplies, furniture, a listening ear, and helpful advice.

Children's clubs

Home for All Nations provides children's clubs called Pathfinders and Adventurers where children of all backgrounds play games, make crafts, gain skills, and learn more about God's best path for their lives.

Imagine being ten years old, leaving all your friends behind, and landing in a country where you don't speak the language. Wouldn't you love to be invited to a children's program in the park?

Houston Gathering

Home for All Nations has a weekly gathering for friendship, worship, and spiritual growth each Saturday. We study the example of Jesus from the Bible, and pray for each other as we share our stories and challenges.

If you are nearby, contact us so you can visit our gathering. If you would like to start a Home for All Nations gathering where you live, get in touch so we can chat about that possibility.

New sharing resource

Prophet? Teacher? Or something more? We have heard many voices speak about Jesus, but perhaps it is time to ask: What did He say about Himself?

This is not just a book; it is a journey guided by Peter, a fellow seeker who grew up in Iran and lived in Turkey. Because he was once a Muslim diligently searching for the truth, Peter deeply understands the unique heartbeat, questions, and culture of the Persian and Turkish-speaking worlds (Iran, Afghanistan, and Turkey). He explores the Bible not as a distant text, but as a living message—inviting you to look past traditions and fears to meet Jesus clearly, in a language that feels like home. Coming soon in Farsi, Turkish, and English.

Gain Empathy.

People often hang out with those who are like them, and are apathetic or prejudiced towards those who are different.

Instead, we want to radically love like Jesus, regardless of people's ethnicity, religious background, status, or appearance. We pursue being a Home for All Nations by seeking a transformed heart.

SHOW LOVE.

Newly arrived individuals have often lost their entire network and are separated from their relatives.

We equip families to be a Home for All Nations by providing opportunities for them to open their family circle to include refugees, international students, and immigrant families

Bring change.

Many people are caught up in their own jobs, families, entertainment, and friends. They're seemingly too busy to help anyone but their own.

We challenge our own selfish natures, aspiring to be a Home for All Nations in our communities through serving the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of people who have recently come to America.

spread hope.

Horrific fighting rocks many countries. Slavery,  prostitution, hunger, and lack of medical care devastate millions, one precious person at a time.

We seek to extend the reach of God's Home for All Nations by helping our international friends also care holistically for their family and friends back in their home countries.  Together we bring help and hope.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Why are you focused on refugees?

1 in 70 people in the world has been forced from his or her home, neighborhood, school, and work. Most refugees are stuck in camp for over ten years. The transition to a third country is traumatic and the losses are great. We focus here because love flows toward the great need.

It's also because Jesus emphasized that the way we treat "the stranger" shows if we have love for Him. 2,000 years ago in the middle of a world divided by politics and religion, poverty, and wealth, Jesus invited everyone to be part of God’s family.

We know this is what we would want done for us if we were in their shoes.

Are you funded by the government?

No. Government funding for this kind of ministry is very limited at this time. This ministry is privately funded by those who share these goals and want to help through their personal donations. We do not accept money from the government or tithe from church members.

Can I get a tax-deductible receipt for my donation?

Yes you can. Home for All Nations is incorporated in Texas as a nonprofit organization and is recognized by the IRS as 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity within the U.S. laws. You will receive a tax-exempt receipt summary in January of each year.

Why is monthly giving so important?

This enables us to budget wisely and to invest in long-term, effective ministry. Knowing we can count on regular donations helps us to serve regularly and faithfully.

How can I help my church have a heart for the needs of refugees and others who have not had a chance to know Jesus?

We would be happy to pray with you and give you advice. Contact us at scott@homeforallnations.org or call +1.707.380.9554. You can speak with Julie Griswold at +1.707.380.9864.

ASAP Ministries has a cross-cultural missions training resource that you can do in a youth group, a Pathfinder Club, or any small group. It's called Reach the World Next Door.

Who are you affiliated with?

Our team is made up of Seventh-day Adventist Christians. We have no direct affiliations with any other organization.
